The manufacturer of ceramic and glass tiles, British Ceramic Tile, has recently been selected to work on the refit of the washrooms at the Weston Favell Shopping Centre in Northampton and St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow.
Commissioned by Interfix, the washroom design and refurb specialists, British Ceramic Tile was briefed to transform the communal washrooms into smart, comfortable facilities.
At Weston Favell, the specification team selected a mocha concrete effect tile in a 298 x 598mm size with a matte finish, created specifically for the project but similar to the existing Shift Mocha tile. The Lore Bianco matte porcelain floor tile was used to deliver a stone effect, while fitting the brief for a durable, practical and hardwearing surface in a 310 x 610mm format. Meeting a slip rating of R10, Lore Bianco is said to reach the higher end of the resistance spectrum to ensure customer safety is a priority.
At St George’s, the toilets were in need of vast improvement due to years of wear and tear of fixtures, fittings and surrounding décor. Condo, a clean white ceramic tile in a 248 x 498mm format was applied to the walls to create a contemporary design with a satin finish. The porcelain Lore Bianco tile was used to cover the floor to bring a practical, easy to keep solution, well-suited for high traffic areas.
Liam Poole, head of specification marketing at British Ceramic Tile, said: “The business is delighted to be supplying products and services to a brand like Interfix, who are seen as the specialists in the sector, delivering all manner of washroom refits from commercial projects through to hospitality and leisure developments. We hope that our attention to detail, alongside the level of expert advice and response time we’ve demonstrated through this project will encourage the company to work with us again.”
