Celebrating once again

The National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) is celebrating once again this year as the visitor & conference centre has been recognised for its performance as an employee-owned business.

The UK Employee Ownership Awards were held on Monday 27th November at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham, where 700 people enjoyed a Gala Dinner hosted by BBC news presenter Martine Croxall.

The annual awards celebrate all aspects of employee-ownership and the NSBRC team were Highly Commended in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category with the judges impressed with the year on year growth the business has seen and it’s continued investment in the facilities at the centre.

This award completes a trio of awards for the Homebuilding Centre, who operate the NSBRC, with the young business also winning Newsquest’s ‘Wiltshire Small Business of the Year’ and Build It Magazines ‘Outstanding Contribution to Self-Build’ in 2017.

NSBRC Managing Director, Harvey Fremlin, said: “This award goes to show that the model of employee-ownership, with all our team having a genuine stake in the business, makes all the difference. We have been celebrating the NSBRC’s tenth anniversary year in 2017 and to end the year with three special awards is beyond our hopes for the business. It’s been a fantastic year all round really, the NSBRC’s busiest since 2008. We all love what we do here, and I believe the team’s passion and dedication to providing a wonderful experience for all our visitors shines through”.
