BEST PRODUCTS | 2017 OF 2017 BESTPRODUCTS Keeping warm on-site this winter X-wood marks the spot for 36 BUILDING PRODUCTS | DECEMBER 2017 BEST PRODUCTS 2017 Next Generation working clothes from Snickers Workwear are said to ‘help workers to defy the winter weather and dress right whilst staying comfortable when on-site’. Continuous, hard work produces body heat and sweat. But when rate of work slows, the sweat cools too, making clothing feel cold and damp. Snickers’ latest garments are said to deliver ventilation and the ability to control and regulate the heat from your body, helpful for both work and leisure activities. The new FlexiWork base-layer undergarments combine Merino wool with polyamide for warmth, durability and ventilation. The body-mapping midlayer fleeces and knitwear come in a range of styles and fabrics designed to insulate by creating a pocket of air around the body. Both layers are complemented by an ‘outer shell’ of Allround wind and waterproof jackets that Snickers says will keep the worker warm, dry and comfortable. www.snickersworkwear.co.uk Leicestershire property A property in rural Leicestershire featuring the PCV foiled X-Wood cladding range has been released by PVC-U and PVC-UE building products manufacturer, Freefoam. After receiving samples of several colour options, the anthracite grey finish was reportedly selected to ‘tone in’ with the brick work and roof. Its easy wipe clean surface and high quality performance qualities are said to have matched the homeowner’s selection criteria exactly. The X-Wood cladding range is a PVC-U exterior cladding that, according to Freefoam, looks and handles like wood but without all the maintenance issues associated with timber. The range is available in a choice of six contemporary colours from subtle white, cream and greyed cedar to traditional oak, anthracite grey and wine red all with a 10-year guarantee. Colin St John, commercial director for Freefoam said: “The 16mm thick X-Wood board with its attractive finish is the perfect product for any development. We have developed X-Wood to complement our other cladding products and to give our customers the opportunity to approach new and growing markets.” www.freefoam.com The Office Partition XL from C.R Laurence can accommodate 28mm thick insulating glass which insulates sound up to 42dB, allowing people to work undisturbed by noise around them. With its acoustic benefits, the Office Partition XL system makes installation quick and easy, enabling the feeling of openness and light created by large glazed walls. The height of the hinged doors on the Office Partition XL system can be easily adjusted, whilst glass fabrication is not required and the doors can be installed in mounted ceiling profiles in wall-to-glass or glass-to-glass applications. Floor-to-ceiling doors can also be mounted, if desired. CRL offers a choice of door hinges, latches, and handle sets. The standard dryglazed system provides maximum transparency and is available in a satin anodised or brushed nickel finish. The profiles are suitable for 8 to 16mm monolithic toughened glass or laminated glass and are supplied with EPDM fixing gaskets available in black or grey. To help with the glass panel installation, the CRL vacuum ratchet tensioning kit enables the glass panels to be easily placed and pulled together. With no silicone sealant required, a clean and neat finish is achieved with polycarbonate joints that simply clip on the glass. Suitable for 180º, 135º and 90º abutment joints, Tconnections and corner joints, the Office Partition System from CRL is said to create the impression of ‘maximum transparency in interior design’. www.crlaurence.co.uk Drowning out the noise
