Sanifos can be sited outside a building and below ground where the drainage is too low for a sewer or too low for a surface mounted pumping station. With a high capacity 500 litre tank, the Sanifos 500 has multiple connections to take waste from bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms in industrial or large domestic buildings. www.saniflo.co.uk Aluminium rainwater and eaves products from Marley Alutec have been used on a social housing development in Swansea, Wales. Completed by Gwalia, part of the Pobl Group, the development of seven pairs of semi-detached houses represents the ideal model of affordable family housing. It was important to achieve a modern aesthetic and choose building products that would stand the test of time. Installed at the project was Marley Alutec’s Evolve half round guttering and Flush-fit downpipes, as well as its Evoke fascia and soffits. All of these have a life expectancy of 50 years or more and are almost completely maintenance free, reducing life cycle costs and disruption to residents. In addition, Marley Alutec provided water butt fittings to meet the requirements for rainwater harvesting on the development. Marley Alutec’s aluminium products are lightweight and easy to install. They require no specialist tools or contractors to fit and adapt on site, and also benefit from colour stable architectural grade paint finish, meaning they will continue to look their best for many years to come. www.marleyalutec.co.uk Having entered into a partnership with Limetec, Imperial Bricks is now able to offer its customers Heritage hydraulic lime mortar in readymixed, 25kg dual-branded bags. The product will be sold alongside Imperial’s wide range of handmade, wirecut and pressed bricks. Seven varieties of the mortar are available, including Natural, Bathstone, Cotswold and Traditional London, which is suited to London yellow stock bricks. The mortar is manufactured by Tarmac. Handmade brick and hydraulic lime mortar together ensure an authentic solution for period property renovation, and also work well with new-builds, according to Imperial. The company offers advice on the potential combination of bricks and mortar, to match existing brickwork or for a particular regional look. The company claims that its ever-expanding range of bricks now has a mortar to suit any style, from traditional houses to more contemporary apartments and offices. www.imperialhandmade bricks.co.uk Shock arrester development saves time and money Provider of heating and plumbing products, Altecnic, has launched a new easy-to-fit compression shock arrester that is WRAS approved and is said to save time and money on installation. Part of the Caleffi group, Altecnic has launched the RoboShock shock arrester. The 15mm compression connection reduces installation times to a minimum and cuts costs since no additional threaded fitting is required. Celebrating 30 years of successful trading throughout the UK and Southern Ireland, Altecnic continues to launch new products. The new RoboShock helps protect appliances against water hammer and offers the installer a wider range of installation options than was previously available. Chris Ramster, trade sales director, said: "The WRASapproved RoboShock represents another significant step forward by Altecnic in developing solutions for the rapidly evolving heating and plumbing industry. We know that installers are going to love the RoboShock so much that it will become a product of choice within a very short time." www.altecnic.co.uk
