Tested to a width of 2,400mm, the system comprises a 48.3mm diameter cap rail to secure the glass in position (12mm to 25.52mm thick) and four balcony connectors. Manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel, the Juliette balcony system is available in a choice of a brushed or polished stainlesssteel finish. Reportedly easy to anchor to wood, concrete or steel fascias, installation is possible in a few straightforward steps according to CRL, from measuring, alignment and fixing of the brackets to the substrate and insertion of pre-cut glass into the cap rail, through to the fixing of the top brackets and cover plates. The CRL Juliette balcony system is suitable for guard rail applications where no space for an exterior balcony is available, and an inward-swinging French door is installed. www.crlaurence.co.uk Kitchen and bathroom worktop specialist, Maxtop Quartz, has unveiled two brand new surface designs to complement its existing range of pre-finished worktops. Available now, pure white and pewter grey will ensure the Maxtop Quartz range offers a modern selection of both sparkling and plain finishes, keeping the product portfolio fresh and on-trend! Stephen Moss, managing director of Maxtop Quartz, commented: “The introduction of pure white and sparkling grey surfaces not only means our portfolio offers something for everyone, but also means we’re providing surfaces that complement the very latest interior trends. “Sparkling surfaces have proven extremely popular in the existing range, so the addition of the pewter grey design will bolster our offering. “Meanwhile, our pure white design is the perfect alternative to solid white quartz, which is usually offered at a significant premium price. pure white, however, is supplied directly from the distributor’s stock and is as cost-effective as the remainder of the Maxtop Quartz range.” The new designs will replace the company’s existing emerald and ochre finishes, which will be phased out in order to make way for new, on-trend surfaces. www.maxtopquartz.co.uk Three of the most in-demand profile finishes available from the Schlüter-Trendline range can now be applied to the internal wall corner profile, Schlüter-Dilex-Ahk, as well as all associated accessories. The new opportunity to finish these items in ivory, stone grey or dark anthracite will reportedly allow specifiers and tilers to achieve flowing expanses of matching profile protection, from wall edges to corners, creating a ‘smooth visual harmony’ or ‘continuous bold accents’ as desired. Schlüter-Dilex-Ahk is a cove shaped aluminium profile that protects tile edges and allows for easy and thorough cleaning of corners, preventing mould growth. It is available in heights of 8, 10 and 12mm, and also features an integrated joint spacer for neat grouting of the tile. Schlüter is continually expanding the range of options available to specifiers and tilers, allowing for increased creativity and the highest quality finishes. www.schluter.co.uk OF 2017 Wolf in waterproofs dives under phase one of London Thameslink Programme One of the civil engineering structures being built as part of London’s Thameslink programme has been part waterproofed using a high-performance membrane from Wolfin, part of the Icopal Group. Approximately 2,000m2 of the Wolfin IB PADS certified membrane was supplied direct to the London site for the Yorkshire based Waterseal (W and S) in preparation to make modules on site prior to installation. Due to possession and blockade working constraints, the specialist proposed the use of Wolfin IB to provide a waterproofing membrane to protect the structure. Throughout the pre-contract and installation process, Icopal/Wolfin offered technical support. Wolfin IB is a homogenous thermoplastic waterproofing membrane that Icopal suggest is resistant to bitumen, flux and mineral oils, as well as kerosene and acids. It is UV, microbe and red algae resistant. Grant Weston, construction director at Waterseal (W and S), said: “The involvement of ourselves in the Bermondsey project was over a two year period. The waterproofing was delivered during possessions and blockades throughout the duration of the project, with the membrane installation being overseen by Skanska and Network Rail.” www.wolfin.co.uk
