The manufacturer of plastic and aluminium extrusions described the RCI Show as a ‘massive success’, reporting leads for its aluminium extrusions and glazing bar systems. It also reported much interest in the clear plastic extrusion of multiwall, solid and corrugated sheets. Show sponsor Jablite chose to demonstrate its design and technical expertise in a distinctive parabola, designed by London based designer, Michael Sodeau, that you couldn’t fail to miss. Built from EPS boards manufactured by Jablite, the striking structure soared overhead in a beautiful white wave that visitors were able to walk underneath. With an emphasis on best practice, the trade bodies and authorities were also out in force, with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA), the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) and the British Board of Agrément (BBA) among those represented at the show to offer information, advice and expertise. Billing this year’s RCI Show as “the best yet” SR Timber reported that customers loved its new stand. Shaun Revill, trading director, at the UK importer of timber roofing products, which was showcasing its flagship fully graded, premium gold roofing batten, said: “Because of the way they were displayed, both our cedar shingles and our scaffold boards attracted a lot of attention and, more importantly, a high level of enquires. “Our Stump SR Timber challenge proved to be a big hit – and it did highlight that myths still persist around fully graded roofing batten, so we aim to dispel those myths in the near future.” Summing up the event, Janine Brady, marketing manager at SIG UK Exteriors said: “There was a real buzz of excitement around the RCI Show. As a partnering sponsor, we are delighted that the industry came out in force to support it, to see the latest innovations, to discuss key issues and to gain knowledge through the CPDs.” With plans are already underway for the next instalment, show director, Tony Brown, said: “Following the recent acquisition of the RCI Show by exhibition experts, the Mark Allen Group, we aim to tap into their considerable expertise and build on the strong foundations we have already established.
