Rehau's Smart Plumbing Manifold
is said to offer a solution for
control of water distribution,
designed for use in utility
cupboards where space is at a
premium. It is reportedly timesaving
for the installer as it only
takes ‘a matter of seconds’ to install
and provides visual checking to
ensure it is secure and tight.
Online building merchant rebrands
has changed its brand name to
cmostores.com. The news comes
after the £39 million business
announced that it had grown its
sales by 46% in 2018.
Using an online platform and
direct shipping, cmostores.com
says it can offer price and product
ranges that traditional operations
Andy Dunkley, chief executive
officer, said: “Our new brand is an
up-to-date visual identity to take
us through the next 10 years of
helping our customers to deliver
projects on time and on budget.”
In addition, a new trade
website is planned, which will
give customers a personalised
portal with streamlined ordering,
simplified paperwork, speedy
quotes and invoicing, and a hotline
to their account manager.
The rebrand includes
new logos for the business’s
four specialist websites:
Firestone Building Products has
appointed former lining sales
manager, Andrew Cooper, in a
newly created role as national sales
Andrew’s new role sees him
taking on sales and business
development responsibility across
commercial roofing, modular
roofing and lining sectors.
His remit as national sales
manager will be to work closely
with Firestone’s sales and technical
teams across both commercial
and modular roofing and lining,

supporting specifiers and contractors
with expert knowledge and a servicedriven
approach to sales.
Andrew’s new role, will include
CPD presentations to architects and
consultants, along with supporting
the technical team in carrying out
site assessments and developing
contractor relationships with after
sales support and training.
After a four-day audit, systems
supplier Veka Group was awarded
the International Standard ISO
50001 Energy Management Systems.
2018 alone saw enough energy
saved to power 750 average-sized
houses for a full year.
Managing director, Dave Jones,
explained: “We’re very proud to
have seen our hard work in this area
recognised, but the certification is
by no means the ‘end point’, rather,
an important milestone in our
continuous endeavour to reduce
energy across the business.
“We replaced an existing
transformer with a newer, more
energy-efficient version which
achieved a saving of 30,000kwh/
year, and our operations managers
have set energy consumption
parameters for the extrusion lines
which are checked every day.
Significant parts of the extrusion
equipment have also been upgraded
saving 255,000kwh per year.
