COMPANY NEWS | SHOWCASE To assist with investigating waterproofing for a project, an index from Newton Waterproofing aims to offer a methodology that scores every waterproofing design by considering the required protection, the structure type/quality, the protection being used, and the competence of the installation. The result is a system for specifiers that provides a consistent measure across the industry for comparing designs, and which acts as a guide through the multitude of waterproofing options. Projects that achieve the highest score on the Index also qualify as Newton Protected Basements, supported by the 10-year Newton Protected Basement Guarantee. Included in the 10-year guarantee is zero defects liability period for the contractor, up to £100,000 of cover per project for consequential loss, cover for product, design and installation failures, in-house design assistance and on-site quality assurance and independent auditing included where required, to ensure continued quality. www.newtonwaterproofing.co.uk 01732 806 958 Breathing easy with The ever-expanding collection rebranding of name JANUARY 2018 | BUILDING PRODUCTS 15 Door and window control systems supplier, Geze UK, has expanded its service division and created six supervisor positions to work across its regional offices. The field operations supervisors’ key role will be to support engineers in the field – ensuring continuity of service and setting quality standards ‘to further enhance the customer experience’. Each field operations supervisor will be responsible for a number of engineers, spanning two or three offices. This is said to encourage the development of best practice and will be overseen by Geze’s service operations manager, Adam Presdee. The field operations supervisor will spend most of their time working alongside the engineers to provide support, expertise, monitoring and assessment. Their management duties will also include training, reviews and audits of completed works. The field operations supervisors will work closely with the service managers who manage the seven regional offices. www.geze.co.uk Service team growth Manufacturer of energy-saving domestic ventilation systems, Polypipe Ventilation, has been ‘reborn’ as Domus Ventilation. With the first stage completed in a major re-evaluation and restructuring of the company, the decision has been made to re-launch the company under the new name of Domus Ventilation. The first stage in the creation of Domus Ventilation has included a move of all staff and manufacturing to modern premises in Caerphilly, South Wales. The advanced manufacturing facilities include 10,891m² of manufacturing area, which is said to house state-of-theart machinery, capable of lights-out operation for maximum efficiency. The new, purpose built Domus Ventilation offices are home to ‘sophisticated’ training facilities, a fully staffed customer service team and a new management team. A key part of the launch of Domus Ventilation has been a new logo and corporate identity. This branding has already been used across a new Domus Ventilation product catalogue and will be shortly applied to a new website. wwww.domusventilation.co.uk South East fabricator, GJB Window Systems, has added the Residence Collection range of timber-effect windows to its product offering. Made available through GJB’s strategic partnership with new sister company, Lister’s, the Residence Collection combines three ‘authentic, highperformance’ window systems, which are said to ‘capture the charm and traditional aesthetics of timber in an ultramodern PVC-u window’. The Residence Collection is headlined by Residence 9, which painstakingly recreates a traditional 19th-century timber flush sash window. Mechanically jointed, R9 complies with the stringent Article 4 guidelines. Available in one of many woodgrain foils, R9 is said to provide an ‘optimal solution’ for conservation areas or modern properties looking for a heritage touch. Also in the range is Residence 7, a flush sash window consisting of seven chambers and a frame depth of 75mm, and R² which is a squarer and more contemporary nine-chambered window, with a frame depth of 100mm. www.gjbdevelopments.co.uk Simplifying waterproofing specification
