Mike Ferguson, marketing manager for Sovereign Group, explained: “What differentiates the fenestration in this project from many residential developments is the size of the windows.” Sovereign's use of VEKA M70 profile enabled minimum Uvalues of 1.4 to be achieved throughout. Mike added: “M70 has long been considered a 'standard' throughout the industry. Besides its crisp, understated looks, its technical and security credentials have future-proofed these buildings for many years; reinforcing the sustainability at the heart of the project. “M70's compatibility with the highest quality hardware enabled us to fit Securistyle Defender Restrictor hinges, key-locking handles to ground-floor and other appropriate windows, and greenbuttoned unlockable systems at fire and emergency egress points.” Sovereign fabricated and installed a total of 110 outward-opening casement windows into the development. www.vekauk.com 01282 716611 With security and aesthetics combined, Origin has unveiled the Origin Residential Door which can be used either as a front or garage door for an integrated front of house look. Manufactured with a high-grade aluminium, there are 35 panel choices on offer, available in over 150 different RAL shades. Available as a front door (either as a single or French Door) or a garage door (French Door), means that homeowners can achieve a complete front of house integrated look, with the best in style, security as well as performance. The Origin residential door has been engineered for optimum energy efficiency, with both the frame and sash featuring an advanced polyamide break to limit heat transfer from the interior to the exterior. Designed ‘with heightened security at the forefront’ from the locks and barrels, through to the hinge design and aluminium composition, all combine to make for an ultra-secure system. www.origin-global.com Getting creative in education Tamworth-based fabricator Window and Door Maintenance Services has completed phase two of the development of Ashlawn School using Kestrel Aluminium Systems’ window and door systems In total 97 windows were manufactured, all specified to be top hung using restricted hinges to comply with building safety regulations for schools and public buildings. Opting to use the complete 150mm cill section the windows sit neatly in the opening and have a uniform aesthetic using black accessories externally and silver internally. As with all new buildings it is of paramount importance that the products are thermally efficient and secure and therefore the Kestrel Aluminium Systems’ thermal framing and thermal commercial door systems were installed. This provided peace of mind for the school that all the entrances to the building are secure as the commercial door system has been tested to achieve PAS24 security standard. www.kestrelaluminium.co.uk Open for all
