After comprehensive market research where a clear desire for product longevity, aesthetic performance and minimal maintenance was defined, Tata Steel created the latest generation of Colorcoat Prisma incorporating cutting edge three layer technology. Three layer technology This innovative multi-coat technology provides superior ultraviolet (UV) resistance and SPECIFIERS’ G UI D E corrosion protection to maintain the gloss, colour and aesthetic appearance of the product. Fully manufactured within the UK, the three layers of the step-change pre-finished steel product, are produced in one pass on an upgraded state-of-the-art production line. Incorporating Tata Steel’s corrosion protection experience, the steel is prepared for the three layer process with a Galvalloy metallic coating, which is applied to the base steel substrate before a pre-treatment layer is added.
