And if that wasn’t enough, you can also grab a free lunch from 12-2pm! The RCI Show is the UK’s only dedicated exhibition that truly embraces what is great about our industry, and we hope you can join us once again and support your national event on the November 1 and 2 2017. You can register for your FREE tickets and find more about the RCI Show 2017 at: www.rcishow.co.uk One of the many benefits of the RCI Show is that you have the opportunity to get hands-on with products and materials; try them out and learn more about them from the experts and make sure they meet your needs. In addition to this, visitors to the RCI Show will also be able to engage with the supplier and build a rapport which is imperative for any company operating in the fast-changing construction sector today. You really can’t put a price on meeting a new supplier face to face, seeing and trying out their products and hopefully developing a fruitful business relationship. To capitalise on all of this if you are a contractor, architect or specifier and would like to hear more about the latest developments and updates to regulations and legislation affecting the roofing sector and wider construction industry, the RCI Show’s two seminar theatres are hosting a selection of RIBA-approved CPDs and a lively one hour debate each day. In the first of the debates the panel will be focusing on the roofing sector’s continuing skills and recruitment issues. James Talman, CEO of the NFRC, will be chairing this session alongside a panel consisting of Andy Williamson, IKO UK managing director, who will explain what IKO have been doing about the skills problem and ask everyone to get involved rather than waiting for others to act; roofing consultant Keith Roberts will highlight how modern design is becoming more complex, and focus on the issues the market faces when balancing the needs of structural security, weather tightness, comfort and fire resistance; and finally Jeremy Wright of the CITB will discuss the importance of skills and apprenticeship programmes for the future of the industry. The second debate will focus on raising standards and how we can ensure best practice is met on all roofing and cladding projects. Gary Wilburn of HPW Architecture will host the debate and lead the Q&A. The panel includes Paul Barrett of Rockwool who will take an in-depth look at the recognised methods of complying with fire safety requirements for external cladding systems on buildings above 18m; Jonathan Evans, CEO of Ash & Lacy, will provide a presentation covering fire performance of rainscreen façade systems; plus
