With access to the app, customers can select and download complete brochures right to their phones, making viewing them quick and easy while on site or on the road. The Designing and Building with Aircrete brochure has been designed to help architects and specifiers to achieve the most efficient designs using H+H products. The brochure provides details on structural design for both low-rise housing or multi-storey buildings and outlines the practical guidance when building with aircrete, covering storage, stacking and recommended mortar types. www.hhcelcon.co.uk Having entered into a partnership with Limetec, Imperial Bricks is now able to offer its customers Heritage hydraulic lime mortar in ready-mixed, 25kg dual-branded bags. The product will be sold alongside Imperial’s wide range of handmade, wirecut and pressed bricks. Seven varieties of the mortar are available, including Natural, Bathstone, Cotswold and Traditional London, which is suited to London Yellow Stock bricks. The mortar is manufactured by Tarmac. Handmade brick and hydraulic lime mortar together ensure an authentic solution for period property renovation, and also work well with new-builds. Imperial offers advice on the potential combination of bricks and mortar, to match existing brickwork or for a particular regional look. The company claims that its ever-expanding range of bricks now has a mortar to suit any style, from traditional houses to more contemporary apartments and offices. imperialhandmadebricks.co.uk Lighting up London with choice of brick Supplier of traditional handmade, wirecut and pressed bricks Imperial Bricks, will be on Stand D90 at the London Build Expo, October 25 and 26 at London Olympia. Imperial Bricks specialises in producing bricks suitable for all regions of the UK, including the London Yellow Stock which comes in four variations, and the Heritage range of hydraulic lime mortars, including a Traditional London variation, is available in partnership with Limetec. Jason Hughes, managing director at Imperial Bricks said: “Our brick range is suitable for all parts of London. With imperial and metric sizing available, it’s simple to match existing brickwork. And if there isn’t an exact match available, Imperial Bricks and Bebbington’s tinting service will ensure a seamless blend of old and new.” imperialhandmadebricks.co.uk Building a City of Culture Provider of building material solutions Weinerberger has donated 16,000 clay bricks to Hull’s 151 nursery schools as part of an exciting project to get children involved in Hull UK City of Culture 2017. The children have sculpted a Wienerberger brick as part of the project which will then be dried and fired to create an art installation for the city centre later this year. Children across Hull aged 0 – 5 have sculpted their clay bricks as part of an Early Years project for the City of Culture 2017 called ‘The Sixteen Thousand’, with this representing the 16,000 0-5 year olds in the city. Now sculpted, the bricks will be dried and fired at Wienerberger’s roof tile factory in Broomfleet and will be used for a final installation which will be situated in Hull city centre and displayed between October 2 to November 5. Ian Read, head of learning and participation at Hull UK City of Culture 2017, said: “We are delighted that Wienerberger has been part of this project, helping us facilitate a fantastic opportunity to inspire the youngest people in the city.” www.wienerberger.co.uk
