Prater achieves BRE BIM certification…

Prater has achieved BRE BIM Level 2 business certification and says it is now working with supply chain partners to share best practice advice for BIM integration.

We are delighted to announce our BIM Level 2 certification,” commented Stuart Whiting, associate director, technical at Prater. “As a business we have long recognised the positive impact BIM and digital engineering can have if fully embraced and successfully implemented. As such, we have made significant investment into the software and training required and we are now seeing the benefits of BIM first-hand, primarily the successful and safe delivery of complex construction projects.

“We are very proud to be leading the way and are currently working with our own supply chain partners to communicate and share best practice advice for BIM integration.”

BRE Global’s BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification scheme assesses a business in relation to its BIM capability and policy as outlined in the PAS 1192-2:2013 and PAS 91 standards. It also considers the ability of the business to meet the requirements of an employer to implement BIM on a project.

Guy Hammersley, director of BIM at the BRE, said: “With third party evidence that BIM level 2 is incorporated into its business processes, Prater’s ability to successfully bid for public sector projects is significantly enhanced. Congratulations to the team at Prater for taking the positive steps to compliance.”
