Two new members appointed following business wins
Building envelope specialist CA Group cladding division SCS has announced the appointment of two new members to the team, following a string of business wins including Winvic’s Helix, in Birmingham and Rushden Lakes, the £140m retail, leisure and tourism destination in the Nene Valley, Northamptonshire.
Jim Keery has been appointed as regional business development manager. He has more than 40 years’ in the industry, including positions with contractors such as Mac Roofing, Curtis Moore and Kovara. He will be responsible for looking after the current customer base as well as engaging new clients.
Keery is joined by commercial estimator, Dan Cartmail, who brings with him experience of the construction and legal industries, having previously qualified as both a quantity surveyor and a solicitor.
Mike Cinnamond, divisional manager for SCS, said: “We have seen a growing demand for specialist rainscreen cladding, particularly from city centre developments. Aesthetics are a key factor, both in allowing architects the freedom to put their personal stamp on a building and in gaining the relevant planning permission. Innovations such as modulation and the development of cladding which offers a greater range of finishes and appearances are also fuelling demand.
“SCS works primarily on new build projects covering a wide range of applications from student accommodation, sports halls and schools to hotels, hospitals, retail and offices. However, we have also seen a growing interest from the refurbishment market. These are exciting times for the specialist cladding sector and we are delighted to be expanding the team.”
