CMS Window Systems wins Queen’s Award
Window, door and curtain walling designer, fabricator and installer CMS Window Systems, has been presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development 2017.
At the event which took place at the company’s Castlecary HQ near Glasgow, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Dunbartonshire, Rear Admiral Michael Gregory OBE, presented the award to Gerald McSkimming, operations director of CMS Window Systems.
The award was given in recognition of its achievements in terms of sustainable business development, and reflected its success in ensuring that environmental, social and economic sustainable practices underpin every aspect of the business.
Lord-Lieutenant Michael Gregory OBE said: “It’s been a great pleasure to come to CMS to present the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation today, to a company that has been a tremendous innovator not just in sustainability, but very effectively in providing youth employment. What they’ve done here is seriously impressive and, therefore, they thoroughly deserve their Queen’s Award for Enterprise.”
Gerald McSkimming, said: “We’re delighted to receive this Queen’s Award for Enterprise today, which I’ve accepted on behalf of the whole team in recognition of their continued hard work.
“Our rapid growth into a £32 million turnover business in just over a decade illustrates what can be achieved with a sharp focus on sustainability in all its forms. There is, however, so much more potential to make Scotland’s – and the whole of the UK’s – housing and public and commercial buildings more sustainable. We’re looking forward to further growth as our customer base seeks to meet ever more demanding energy and CO2 reduction goals.”
