Woodfibre insulation used at Victoria and Albert’s Plywood Exhibition

Vapour-permeable woodfibre insulation called Pavatex from NBT, has been installed as part of an exhibition celebrating the use of plywood in construction, furniture and design at London’s Victoria and Albert museum.
Pavatex has been chosen for inclusion in the exhibition through Waugh Thistleton Architects, a Shoreditch-based architectural practice.
Anthony Thistleton from Waugh Thistleton said: “As a natural, renewable, vapour permeable wood product with excellent thermal properties and improved protection against fire, woodfibre insulation maximises the ease of construction, healthy living environment and carbon negative benefits that building with wood can bring.”
The Stadthaus exhibit at the V&A’s Plywood exhibition features a 125mm thick timber wall with Pavatex woodfibre insulation on the exterior surface. The sample envelope structure has then been completed with external cladding and includes a thermal break and a cavity fire break.
