SGB appointed as access system provider for Manchester development
The ability to respond efficiently to specific client requirements and supply large quantities of equipment is said to have helped SGB to be appointed as the access system provider for a major new development in Manchester. The company has since supplied a large integrated mastclimber access solution for the Middlewood Locks development which has been built in Salford, Manchester.
The mixed-use development includes six blocks of between eight and 11 storeys in height, and an access system was required which could accommodate the different requirements posed by various parts of the site.
SGB’s business development manager, Karl Hancock, said: “The client, BCEGI, needed an access systems supplier who could design and install a bespoke solution.
“They knew that SGB could meet that requirement, and back this up by providing large quantities of equipment, a flexible service plus detailed technical back-up and support.”
The £700 million Middlewood Locks development was one of the first major projects undertaken by BCEGI in the north west, and it saw SGB provide 91 single and double mastclimbers.
A BCEGI spokesman, added: “We needed a large-scale supplier who could design an integrated solution and provide all the necessary equipment.
“SGB were able to satisfy that requirement, and also provide a full installation and management service, so we were confident that their solution was the best one available to us.”
The Middlewood Locks development is part of a 24-acre regeneration scheme.
