A flat roof solution for the Metropolitan Police
2,200m2 of Alumasc’s SupaGOLD Waterproofing System was installed at the Metropolitan Police Authority’s Quicksilver Patrol Base in London, providing high-performance waterproofing and a fully-engineered tapered insulation scheme – all without disrupting this critically important Police Response Unit.
Following numerous patchwork repairs to the previous system, Vinci Facilities commissioned Alumasc to conduct a detailed site survey. Alumasc’s SupaGOLD Waterproofing System was recommended as the perfect replacement, as a key requirement was that the system must be independently insured for up to 20 years.
Vinci Facilities appointed approved installer TR Freeman to refurbish the existing roof areas using Alumasc’s Euroroof SupaGOLD Warm Roof System, and replace the original roof lights with bespoke Alumasc roof lights.
TR Freeman first removed the deteriorated waterproofing system and prepared the metal deck below, before installing a Vapour Control Layer to provide immediate protection against water ingress. They then applied the Euroroof SupaGOLD waterproofing system – a Vapour Barrier, PU bonded PIR Insulation SUPA XL Underlay and finally the Euroroof SupaGOLD capping sheet.
Robert Bruce, Operations Manager of Vinci Facilities commented: “The service and support was excellent. Alumasc delivered the solutions we needed and the 20 year independently insured system helped us meet a key project requirement.”
