Aquarian Cladding celebrates 15 years at the top
Aquarian Cladding Systems, the UK’s leading specialist supplier of external brick cladding systems, is celebrating a very special anniversary this year, having turned fifteen on July 1st.
Launched by Managing Director Paul Richards and his wife Linda from their Clevedon home, the North Somerset-based company is now one of the country’s biggest challengers in a rapidly growing market.
Thanks to his 20+ years’ experience of supplying a range of façade solutions to the construction industry, Paul formed Aquarian having negotiated an exclusive distribution agreement for the UK of an offsite brick panel system, produced in Belgium, called Gebrik.
The system’s success helped drive Aquarian’s growth and the company now has 13 employees. To date, the company has supplied approximately 450,000 sqm of brick cladding across over 350 projects throughout the UK – all whilst having to navigate the challenges of the Financial Crash, the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy, Brexit and Covid.
To sit alongside its Gebrik insulating brick cladding system, the company added two non-combustible A1-rated brick cladding systems, MechSlip and NaturAL-X, to its portfolio in 2020 and continues to assess other suitable systems to add to it’s offering, with many new market opportunities and products emerging.
Along the way Aquarian has scooped a whole host of awards, including winning Business of the Year at the Business Leader Awards two years running and scooping the ‘Best use of brick slip cladding system’ award at the 2021 Façade Awards UK, which the company is shortlisted for again this year.
Quality products, first-class technical support, a customer-focussed approach, strong supply chain relationships and its Approved Installer Network are just some of the unique reasons why Aquarian stands out in a very competitive market.
Paul Richards, MD, said: “Reaching our 15-year anniversary is a terrific milestone and our longevity is testament to the dedication of our team. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our loyal customers, suppliers and fantastic people – past and present. Everyone really has played their part.
“Conditions have been tough and it’s thanks to the team that we have been able to tackle these headwinds to stay at the forefront of the industry. The past 15 years has been quite a journey, and the world is now a very different place, but I believe our resilience and experience has made us more valuable in our supply chain than ever before.”
