Hurley Palmer Flatt appoint Ian James as head of fire engineering

Independent multi-disciplined engineering consultancy Hurley Palmer Flatt, has appointed Ian James as head of fire engineering, to work across all sectors of the business.

Ian joins Hurley Palmer Flatt with over of 25 years’ risk, design and fire safety management experience, both operational and strategic and has a comprehensive understanding of fire strategy, systems design, fire risk assessment and providing a risk based approach to fire safety / engineering solutions.

He has worked on a wide range of building projects, from schools, high rise offices through to hospitals and residential projects and in doing so he has developed a very strong understanding of the technical issues associated with the design and construction of a diverse range of building types.

Hurley Palmer Flatt advise on fire safety design for large and complex buildings across a range of sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Retail and Residential, providing solutions which combine efficiency and flexibility to the design team and ultimate end user whilst also maintaining a high level of safety to occupants.
