Aperam UGINOX TOP has been installed as shingles to provide a durable matt façade on the £5.2m Galashiels Transport Interchange.
Forming part of the highest profile rail restoration project in Scotland since the Beeching closures, the ‘statement building’ is the tourism entry point to the Scottish Borders for rail, bus and road.

Stainless steel was specified in preference to aluminium for its lasting appearance, sustainability and lower installed cost. Design and installation was undertaken by specialist contractor Longworth Metal Roofing, the shingles being made off-site to minimise waste and achieve the highest standard of consistency.
