Fire doors are a crucial part of the passive fire protection of every commercial, public and multiple occupancy building. They save lives and property.
Fire safety information and education on this topic is required, which is why Laidlaw endorses Fire Door Safety Week this week (25 September – 1 October), raising awareness of the role of the fire door.
Laidlaw want to promote the fact that selecting the correct fire door hardware can save lives. They believe it is important to remember that these are not fit and forget products. Laidlaw encourages building owners and users to check the operation and condition of their fire doors and to report those that aren’t satisfactory. Only by selecting certified products, ensuring they are installed correctly and with a regular maintenance programme set up, can it be ensured that fire doors always perform correctly and safely.
