Rehau flush fit windows have been used to give a contemporary finish to a new luxury apartment development in South London, which forms part of Brunswick Square – the centrepiece of Orpington’s town regeneration programme.
The Brunswick Square development is being delivered by Berkeley Homes. Built on the location of the former Met Office building, the scheme includes 83 modern one and two-bedroom apartments each with a private terrace, winter garden or balcony. It is surrounded by a landscaped public square, a cinema, hotel, gym and restaurants, and all within 20 minutes of central London.
When it came to the selection of windows for the Brunswick Square scheme, contractor SEH Commercial needed to recommend products which would not only meet the high standards expected, but also adhere to the rigorous planning regulations for the regeneration area and match the aesthetics of the police station, which made way for the development.
SEH Commercial recommended Rehau’s flush fit windows with a Smooth Anthracite Grey on the exterior with white on the interior, to create contemporary and clean lines for the building’s exterior yet offer homeowners all the efficiency advantages, noise reduction qualities and low maintenance that PVC-U windows can offer. In total, 192 Rehau PVC-U flush fit casement windows were fitted at Brunswick Square.
Rehau ‘s flush fit window is reportedly based on an authentic, traditional design, timber window but with all the benefits of modern PVC performance. The window is said to integrate seamlessly into new-builds and other commercial projects and meets a range of requirements – it is multi-chambered for improved U Values, withstands all weather types, offers a full range of colour laminate options and much more. The style consists of a casement window side and top hung where the sash fits flush into the frame.
Kevin O’Neill, commercial manager at Rehau said: “We launched our flush fitting casement windows in 2014 to offer Rehau customers even more options for their clients when specifying PVC-U windows. With a flush fit window, it’s possible to create very clean and contemporary lines, which works particularly well on large developments like Brunswick Square. The addition of the grey laminate foil adds a further modern twist and reduces sight-lines to deliver a glazing finish which scores high for aesthetics, as well as cost, efficiency and longevity. The Berkeley Group have embraced the use of our flush fit casement window on a number of their developments and remain a key customer for Rehau.”
Glen Swatman, managing director SEH Commercial said: “When you see the transformation of a local landmark into something new, it gives the whole area a new lease of life. The aesthetically pleasing development of Brunswick Square has demonstrated how we can work in partnership with a developer and deliver a first-class project.”
