The Freelancer & Contractor Services Association appoints Chris Bryce as CEO

The Freelancer & Contractor Services Association (FCSA) has appointed a new Chief Executive, as the organisation sets its sights on strengthening its influence and membership within the temporary labour market.

Moving from his previous role as CEO of The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed (IPSE), Chris Bryce joins the organisation with an accomplished record of delivering excellence, growth, cultural change and influence across a range of complex businesses and non-profits.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said: “I’m delighted to join the FCSA as its new CEO. My overall aim will be to ensure all parties in the supply chain – especially contractors served by the organisation’s members – can expect the highest levels of compliance, transparency, and reliability from FCSA accredited members.

“I also want to ensure the FCSA itself continues to be synonymous with being recognised a trusted partner within the industry, which acts independently and with integrity.”

In his new role, Chris will be working closely with the FCSA’s members, which provide umbrella employment, CIS/self-employed contractor provider services, limited company advisor services and business support solutions to the contingent workforce.

Chris began his career in sales, becoming Sales Director of a business logistics company and then moving on to become its General Manager. He then stepped into the world of contracting and consultancy at several financial institutions, delivering multiple global-scale change programmes as a consultant Programme Director.

During his time as IPSE’s CEO, Chris also acted as President of The European Forum of Independent Professionals (EFIP), a collaboration of national associations from across Europe which represents independent professionals at EU level through targeted research and advocacy.

James Burrows, Chair of the FCSA, said: “The board is delighted to announce that Chris Bryce joined the FCSA as our new CEO in January 2022.

“I’d also like to thank the outgoing CEO, Phil Pluck. Since his appointment in early 2019, Phil has done a sterling job at the FCSA; ensuring our members achieve the highest standards of compliance with both the letter and the spirit of UK law. At the helm of the organisation, we’re excited for Chris to carry on the vital work of setting and influencing industry best-practice.”
