Technical shading systems supplier, Guthrie Douglas, has designed and produce an automatic shading system for The Wellcome Trust’s London headquarters, the Gibbs Building.
Guthrie Douglas was asked to devise an effective system for the curved, glazed south-side roof of this impressive building.
It recommended its TESS 100, the guideless rectangular system, designed for all curved applications. In addition, engineers developed relieving rollers and tensioned guide wires for the blinds that were fitted on the double-skinned glazed façade, creating a fully automated solar shading system.
Guthrie Douglas says the TESS 100 system is ideal for overcoming the toughest challenges on curved glazing, while maintaining a stylish and effective look. Suitable for fabric areas of 16m2 or under, it is available in widths of 870mm – 4000mm, unlimited colour finishes and a wide range of fabrics, making it suitable for any project.
